Controlled Burn Planned Monday Within Stormwater Diversion Channel Construction Site

FARGO, N.D. – As construction continues within the stormwater diversion channel portion of the FM Area Diversion project, ASN Constructors is planning a controlled burn along local rivers. The controlled burn is necessary to manage vegetation to support future construction.

The controlled burn is scheduled to begin the morning of Thursday, March 27, and continue throughout the day and into Friday, March 28 as needed. The controlled burn will follow all applicable environmental and safety precautions, aiming to minimize environmental impacts and ensure public safety.

The burn will begin on the northern end of the channel, starting along the Rush River, west of 168th Avenue SE, and continue south to the Lower Rush River on either side of 64th Avenue N. It will continue along the Maple River south of 33rd Street SE and finish along the Sheyenne River south of 46th Street SE/Cass County Road 14 and west of 81st Street S.

For safety, ASN Constructors and their subcontractor have coordinated this controlled burn with local fire departments to ensure safe burning conditions.

The public may notice visible smoke in the area during the controlled burn. ASN Constructors is committed to keeping disruptions to the public as minimal as possible and appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation. Questions about the controlled burn can be directed to the public information officer at 701-306-3294.
