Metro Flood Diversion Authority Changes Address
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FARGO, ND (June 6,
2022) – The Metro Flood Diversion Authority, the governing authority for the FM
Area Diversion comprehensive project, has relocated its office space. The move allows
the MFDA to co-locate with the Red River Valley Alliance and its design and
construction arm, ASN Constructors.
RRVA was
named last year for the public-private partnership (P3) portion of the
Congressionally authorized project. The consortium of three international
companies — Acciona, Shikun & Binui, and North American Construction Group —
is responsible for designing, constructing, financing, operating, and
maintaining the 30-mile-long stormwater diversion channel and its associated
infrastructure, which includes two aqueducts, road and railroad bridges, drainage
inlets, and a diversion outlet.
The new
MFDA address is 4784
Amber Valley Parkway South, Suite 100, Fargo, ND 58104.
The FM Area Diversion is
designed to provide permanent, reliable flood protection to the Fargo-Moorhead
metropolitan area. Construction on the FM Area Diversion began in 2017 with
expected completion of the project by 2027. For more information about the
MFDA, visit FMDiversion.gov.
