Metro Flood Diversion Authority Finance Committee Special Meeting Minutes

A virtual special meeting of the Metro Flood Diversion Authority Finance committee was held on August 9, 2021. The following members were present: Bernie Dardis, Mayor, City of West Fargo; Dr. Tim Mahoney, Mayor, City of Fargo; Chad Peterson, Cass County Commissioner; Dan Jacobson, Chairman, Cass County Joint Water Resource District; Lori Johnson, Clay County Auditor/Treasurer; Mike Redlinger, City of Fargo Assistant Administrator; Dave Piepkorn, Fargo City Commissioner; Mike Rietz, City of Moorhead Assistant City Manager and Shelly Carlson, Mayor, City of Moorhead.

Members absent: Kent Costin, City of Fargo Finance Director and Rick Steen, Cass County Commissioner.

1. CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Dardis called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM.

2. APPROVE ORDER OF AGENDA

MOTION PASSED

Mr. Peterson moved to accept the order of the agenda and Mayor Carlson seconded the motion. On a roll call vote, the motion carried.

3. OTHER BUSINESS

Resolution Authorizing Execution of the Project Agreement for Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan Area Flood Risk Management Project

Mr. Shockley provided a summary and explanation outlining the intent of the above-referenced resolution. Mr. Shockley indicated that the resolution is a procedural resolution authorizing the executive director and board chair the authority to sign the project agreement and associated documents.

MOTION PASSED

Mayor Carlson moved to approve and execute the resolution as presented and Mr. Peterson seconded the motion. On a roll call vote, the motion carried.

The next meeting will be August 25, 2021.

5. ADJOURNMENT

MOTION PASSED

Mr. Peterson moved to adjourn the meeting and Mr. Jacobson seconded the motion. The meeting adjourned at 4:09 PM.
