Leaders of the Diversion Board of Authority received a copy of the report from the Governors’ Task Force. The Board will review the document and discuss the report at the upcoming board meeting at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at Fargo City Hall.
“We extend our thanks to the task force members. We have a lot of work to do, but having this discussion was very helpful,” Board Chair, Mayor of Moorhead and Task Force member Del Rae Williams said. “I am optimistic we will find a path forward.”
North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton today released a report outlining the work of the Task Force and future steps of flood protection for the Fargo and Moorhead communities.
“This was a unique process for a unique need,” Williams said. “It really shows that we are one community. We have to work together to solve big issues like flooding.”
The Task Force was comprised of 16 members and met five times. The group also convened a Technical Advisory Group to evaluate the technical details of the project.
