Diversion Authority receives ND phased permit for Wild Rice River Control Structure
The North Dakota State Engineer has issued a phased permit to the Diversion Authority for the Wild Rice River Control Structure. The structure is part of the FM Area Diversion Project and will be constructed by the US Army Corps of Engineers as part of the infrastructure along the Southern Embankment.
The Corps solicited bids for the structure this summer and is expected to award a construction contract later this fall.
The Wild Rice River Control Structure is the second structure to be built as part of the larger project. Construction on the Diversion Channel Inlet Structure began in 2017, was halted and then restarted after a court order in the spring.
The permit is available here.
