Diversion Authority Prepares to Offer Executive Director Position to Joel Paulsen
The Diversion Authority today moved and approved a motion to extend and prepare an offer to Joel Paulsen for the position of Executive Director of the FM Area Diversion Project. Paulsen was one of three candidates interviewed by the board earlier this month.
“The Project is at the point where we need an Executive Director. This is a great project that will provide flood protection for our citizens, but we are at the point where we need a point person for organizational structure,” said Cass County Commissioner Mary Scherling, Chair of the Diversion Authority. “We were fortunate to have three very qualified candidates that brought different skills to the table. I’m excited we are able to possibly bring an Executive Director on board.”
“This is such an enormous project and we are ready to go. It’s time to have a full-time, dedicated Executive Director on the team,” said Scherling.
“I have worked with Joel for many years and know he is knowledgeable about our community, flooding issues as a Certified Flood Plain Manager and the Project,” Clay County Commissioner and Vice-Chair of the Board Kevin Campbell said.
The Board anticipates discussing the offer and candidate’s response at the next meeting in August.
