The Corps, in cooperation with the Flood Diversion Board of Authority, will host a “Construction Industry Day” event on Wednesday, June 27 in Fargo for all construction type businesses interested in the Fargo-Moorhead Metro Diversion Project. A Contracting Seminar will be offered the following day on Thursday, June 28 to provide an introduction to contracting with the Federal government.
These events are open only to contracting businesses. Pre-registration for either or both days of the two-day event is required and space is limited. Information on registration and the events is posted on FebBizOpps, www.fbo.gov, keywords: W912ES, Fargo Moorhead.
The “Construction Industry Day” event provides an opportunity to improve the design of the project with respect to bid-ability, constructability, operability and environmental considerations. This event provides contractors and suppliers the opportunity to take a critical look at how the project features are proposed to be laid out and allows for feedback that could realize a reduction in cost, improve constructability, reduce schedule risk and provide firsthand experience on best practice methods.
As part of the “Construction Industry Day” event, contractors will be able to view and provide feedback on draft design documents for the outlet and first reach of the project. The Corps has been working to provide contractors the best available design documents for the event.
The Corps, in cooperation with the Flood Diversion Board of Authority, will host an open house prior to the “Construction Industry Day” event on Tuesday, June 27 from 6pm to 9pm at the Holiday Inn, located at 3803 13 Ave. S. in Fargo. The open house will provide the public with the most recent updates on the design efforts for the Outlet to the Maple River segment of the proposed Diversion Project. All are invited and welcome to attend.
