Details have been released on two community meetings which are being held in August to discuss the Diversion Project and specific topics of interest to residents of the Comstock, MN area, as well as Minnesota communities upstream of the Project.

First, a meeting will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Community Center in Comstock, MN, to discuss concerns specific to the City of Comstock. The evening begins with an open house at 6:00 pm, to be followed by the meeting at 7:00 pm.

Second, another meeting with be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, also at the Community Center in Comstock. This meeting is for upstream residents and property owners in Minnesota, and will include an open house at 6:00 pm with local officials and technical experts in attendance to discuss the Project and answer questions. At 7:00 pm, there will be a presentation including an overview of the Project, the current status of the Project, and the proposed mitigation. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions specific to the Project.

Landowners outside of Comstock who may be impacted by Project operations have received invitations to the meeting on August 20. At that meeting, these landowners will have an opportunity to sign up for individual meetings to learn information specific to how the Project affects their properties and what mitigation options might be possible.

The Diversion Authority recognizes that many residents have already provided valuable input during previous meetings, but hopes these meetings in Minnesota will be helpful in gathering additional feedback on the Project and on the mitigation options.
